Rockingham based Douglas Motorsport has today announced that they are the latest team to commit to the BRDC Formula 4 Championship with an initial order of two cars for the 2013 championship.

Lead by Wayne Douglas, a former British and Irish Formula Vauxhall Champion himself, Douglas Motorsport has emerged as one of the sensations of the 2012 Ginetta Junior Championship, becoming one of the most successful teams in the championship in their rookie year. Well known for their very successful driver development programme, utilising Wayne’s experience with their own in house pair of Eurocup Spec Formula Renault single seater race cars, past drivers have moved on from their driver development program to win races and championships in both British and European Formula Renault, Formula 3 and GP3. As such, Douglas Motorsport has a proven track record of paving the motorsport careers of some of the brightest up and coming stars.

Speaking about the announcement, Wayne expressed his immediate interest in this championship once it was announced. “Having spoken with Jonathan Palmer about this new championship, his vision for the series coupled with the fantastic support of his MSV Group was a key factor in our decision to join this championship for 2013. As a former McLaren Autosport BRDC Award nominee myself, I understand first hand just how significant the BRDC’s support of this championship will be. With our vast experience in similar single seater race cars over the last number of years, we would aim to be leading from the front right from the off.”
