Current Dunlop Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year Niall Murray returns to Kirkistown this weekend aiming to extend his Northern Ireland Formula Ford Championship advantage. After a disappointing weekend some two weeks ago in Mondello Park at the Irish Formula Ford Festival, Murray will be aiming to return to winning ways at the Co.Down circuit.

Niall’s weekend at Mondello Park started well in qualifying but sadly went down hill from there. Despite finishing all but one race, it was a case of what could have been for the Irish Sports Council supported driver who has been setting the pace in Formula Ford in Ireland for the majority of the season to date.

Hoping to leave his run of bad luck in the past, Murray returns to a circuit where he has been a multiple winner so far this year and currently enjoys a healthy advantage at the head of the championship.

Niall Murray – #5 Formula Ford:
“Mondello wasn’t my best weekend this year. I was really happy with qualifying and my pace was good after a few issues in Friday testing, but the races didn’t really go to plan. That’s all in the past now and hopefully we can win a few more races in Kirkistown this weekend. I really like it up here and have been strong here so far this season so this weekend shouldn’t be any different.”
